  I met Dr Mark Perlmutter while a patient a JSUMC a few years ago. I instantly sensed he was interested in me and my recovery from a serious illness even though I explained I already had a good urologist. After recovering, I checked his credentials and switched to his care which has been outstanding for the past five years. He is a graduate of a top ten medical school and is one of the only robotic surgeons in his speciality. My wife and I only see the best doctors. We usually travel to Weill Cornell or MSK in Manhattan to see other specialists, with the exception of our cardiologist in East Brunswick. Dr Perlmutter ranks right up there with the best in the large hospital practices in New York, and he is close to home.
  I agree the office staff can be detached and unfriendly, but they are no worse than most other doctor's offices, probably better.

  I've been taking my father to Dr. Perlmutter for the past 4 years. We went initially because his credentials are impressive. We've stayed because he is always professional and I believe he genuinely cares about my dad. My father has needed 2 procedures in the hospital. Dr. Perlmutter was very supportive and his staff very helpful each time. Sometimes his office gets a little busy, but he always takes the time to explain what's going on with my dad. Not all doctors do that.
  
  Now by brother and next door neighbor have both switched to Dr. Perlmutter as well. He's great!
